How to Install and Setup DigiPunch
DigiPunch consists of two main
programs: DigiPunch Time Clock (DTC) and DigiPunch Manager (DM).
Employees use DTC to clock in and out. Bookkeepers and managers use
DM to manage the whole system. These two programs can be installed
on different PC's on a network, or a single standalone PC.

1. |
 |
On one of the PC's designated to run DTC or DM or both, run DBSETUP.EXE from the installation folder.
When this screen appears, choose a folder
for the DigiPunch database. If you want to create a new folder,
select the drive or parent folder you want it created in and click the New Folder
button.
Please
pay attention to the folder icons on the screen. Note the
differences between open folders and closed folders. Double click
a folder to open or close it.
Click the OK button to accept
the open folder for the DigiPunch Database.
The program does not allow re-installation of the database in the same folder,
so you will not accidentally wipe out your data. To
re-install the database into the same folder, you must delete all the
files in the folder. |
|
2. |
 |
On each of the designated DTC or DM PC's, run DTC.EXE in the installation folder. The program will ask
you to set the path to the DigiPunch database. When this screen
appears, find the DigiPunch database folder, select the file HOURS.DB, and then click
the OK button.
Note that all DigiPunch PC's must reference the database folder using
the same mapping. |
|
3. |
 |
On each of the designated DTC PC's, restart the DTC.EXE program. The
program will ask you for a name for the time clock. This name must be
unique. |
|
4. |

 |
Do
the following on each of the designated DTC or DM PC's only if the
program runs on a network.
16-bit only: Run BDECFG.EXE (default directory is C:\IDAPI)
to set PARADOX Driver's "NET DIR" to the DigiPunch database
directory. (Upper picture)
32-bit only: Run Control Panel>BDE
Administrator to set PARADOX Drive's "NET DIR" to the DigiPunch
database directory. (Lower picture) |
|
|
Both DTC and DM will be able to run now.
You may wish to create Windows desktop shortcut icons for them, or put DTC
in Windows Start Up group. For these tasks, please refer to Windows
help. |
